Courses and Training

These courses and training conducted by the institution are divided into two (Wireman and Chargeman)

Wireman (Single Phase and Three Phase)
 

Single Phase ( PW1 / PW2 ) Qualifications

PROGRAM  I (2 YEARS):
This courses conducted for a two years by  these sequence:

  • One (1) year in institution with undergone 3 times practical in a real house before proceed to industrial training.
  • Six (6) months  undergone for industrial training with an Electrical Contractor registered with the Energy Commission
  • Six (6) months in institution for a full time.
  • Learning institution: Theory for 40% and practical for 60%.
  • Attendant courses in the institution not less than 80%
  • Attendant for industrial training not less than 90%
 Basic qualifications

PROGRAM II (2 YEARS)
This courses conducted for a two years by  these sequence:


  • One (1) year in institution with undergone 3 times practical in a real house before proceed to industrial training.
  • Nine (9) months undergone for industrial training with an Electrical Contractor registered with the Energy Commission.
  • Three (3) months in institution for a full time.
  • Learning institution: Theory for 40% and practical for 60%.
  • Attendant course in the institution not less than 80%.
  • Attendant for industrial training not less than 90%
 Basic qualification
Single Phase ( PW1 / PW2 ) Qualifications

PROGRAM III (15 MONTHS)
This courses conducted for a one (1) year and three (3) months by these sequence:


  • Six (6) months  in institution with undergone 2 times practical in a real house before proceed to industrial training.
  • Six (6) months undergone for industrial training with an Electrical Contractor registered with the Energy Commission.
  • Three (3) months in institution for a full time.
  • Learning institution: Theory for 40% and practical for 60%.
  • Attendant course in the institution not less than 80%.
  • Attendant for industrial training not less than 90%
  • Basic requirement
    Possess a one year working experience in electrical wiring with an Electrical Contractor registered with the Energy Commission.
    Possess a complete log book based on 1 year working experience in wiring validated by a competent person and the employer.
    Possess Employees Provident Fund (EPF) or SOCSO statement as evidence of working experience for at least 1 year.
Three Phase ( PW3 / PW4 ) Qualifications

PROGRAM I (3 YEARS)
This courses conducted for a three (3) years by these sequence:


  • Two (2) years in institution with undergone 3 times practical in a real house before proceed to industrial training.
    Six (6) months undergone for industrial training with an Electrical Contractor (Class C and above) registered with the Energy Commission.
    Six (6) month in institution for a full time.
    Learning institution: Theory for 40% and practical for 60%.
    Attendant course in the institution not less than 80%.
    Attendant for industrial training not less than 90%
  • Basic Requirement
Three Phase ( PW3 / PW4 ) Qualifications

This courses conducted for a three (3) years by these sequence:


  • One (1) year in institution with practical training
  • Eighteen (18) month industrial training in industries/factories registered with Energy Commission.
  • Six (6) month in institution for refresher course and final exam.
  • Attendant course in the institution not less than 80%.
  • Attendant for industrial training not less than 90%
 Basic Qualification

PROGRAM II (2 YEARS)
This courses conducted for a two (2) years by these sequence:

  • One (1) year in institution with practical training.
  • Six (6) month industrial training in industries/factories registered with Energy Commission.
  • Six (6) month in institution for refresher course and final exam
  • Attendant course in the institution not less than 80%.
  • Attendant for industrial training not less than 90%
  • Basic requirement
  • Possess either one from these certificates:
     
    • Possess a Single Phase and Three Phase wiring certificate of competency (PW1/PW2/PW3/PW4/PW6)
      OR
      Polytechnic Certificate (Electrical Engineering)

PROGRAM  II  (4 MONTHS-16 WEEKS)
This courses conducted for a four (4) months by these sequence:

  • Eight (8) months in institution with practical
  • Four (4) months industrial training in industries/factories registered with Energy Commission
  • Four (4) month in institution for refresher course and final exam
  • Attendant course in the institution not less than 80%.
  • Attendant for industrial training not less than 90%
  • Basic requirement
    Experience:
    i.    Possess not less than 3 years working experience in an environment involving operation of electrical equipment and has experiences in controlling live equipment, and

    ii.   Possess complete log book based on 3 years working experience in an environment involving operation of electrical equipment and controlling live equipment validated by a competent person and the employer.
    OR

    iii.  Possess certificate of competency;
            a.   Wireman PW1/PW2/PW3/PW4/PW6
                  OR
            b.   Polytechnic certificate(Electrical 
                  Engineering)

    iv.  Possess not less than 2 years working experience in an environment involving operation of electrical equipment and has experiences in controlling live equipment

    v.   Possess complete log book based on 2 years working experience in an environment involving operation of electrical equipment and controlling live equipment validated by a competent person and the employer
Category for A1
Programs Qualifications

  • Attendant course in the institution not less than 80%.
  • Attendant for industrial training not less than 90%
  1. Basic requirement.
    Experience:
    i.     Possess not less than 3 years working experience in an environment involving operation of electrical equipment and has experiences in controlling live equipment including 1 year experience in installation and low voltage aerial line maintenance, and
    ii.    Possess complete log book based on 3 years working experience in an environment involving operation of electrical equipment and controlling live equipment including installation works and low voltage aerial line maintenance validated by a competent person and the employer,
    OR
    iii.   Possess a Chargeman AO certificate of competency at least 1 year working experience in low voltage aerial line operation,  and
    iv.   Possess complete log book based on 1 year working experience in low voltage aerial line maintenance validated by a competent person and the employer.
    OR
    v.    Possess a Wireman certificate of competency (PW1/PW2/PW3/PW4) not less than 2 years working experience
    (Note: 1 year working experience in an environment involving operation of electrical equipment and controlling live equipment and 1 year working experience in low voltage aerial line maintenance), and
    vi.   Possess complete log book based on 2 years working experience in an environment involving operation of electrical equipment and controlling live equipment including low voltage aerial line maintenance validated by a competent person and the employer.

Programs Qualifications

PROGRAM  (20 WEEKS)
This courses are conducted for a five (5) months by these sequence:

  • Three (3) months in institution with practical training.
    Four (4) months industrial training in an industries/factories registered with Energy Commission
    Four (4) weeks in institution for refresher course and final exam
    Attendant course in the institution not less than 80%.
    Attendant for industrial training not less than 90%
  • Basic Requirement
    Possess a Chargeman AO certificate of competency with 1 years working experience  in low voltage of generators, and
    Possess a complete log book based on 1 years working experience in generators validated by a competent person and the employer.
Category for A4-1
Programs Qualifications

PROGRAM  (20 WEEKS)
These course are conducted for a five (5) months by these sequence:

  • Three (3) months in institution with practical training.
    Four (4) weeks industrial training in industries/factories registered with Energy Commission.
    Four (4) weeks in institution for refresher course and final exam.
    Attendant course in the institution not less than 80%.
    Attendant for industrial training not less than 90%
  • Basic requirement.
    Experience:
    i.    Possess a Chargeman AO certificate of competency at least 1 year working experience in low voltage standby generator and 1 year in installation and maintenance of low voltage aerial line, and
    ii.   Possess complete log book based on 1 years working experience low voltage standby generator and 1 year in installation and maintenance of low voltage aerial line validated by a competent person and the employer.
    OR
    iii.  Possess a Chargeman A1 certificate of competency at least 1 year working experience in low voltage standby generator, and
    iv.  Possess complete log book based on 1 year working in experience in low voltage standby generator validated by a competent person and the employer.
    OR
    v.   Possess a Chargeman A4-2 certificate of competency at least 1 year working experience in installation and maintenance low voltage aerial line, and
    vi.  Possess complete log book based on 1 year working experience in installation and maintenance low voltage aerial line validated by a competent person and the employer.
Category for A4
Programs Qualifications

  • Basic requirement.
    Experience:
    i.    Possess a Chargeman AO certificate of competency with 2 years working experience with 1 year in low voltage synchronizing of generators and 1 year in installation and maintenance low voltage aerial line, and
    ii.   Possess a complete log book based on 2 years working experience in synchronizing of generators and also with installation and low voltage aerial line maintenance for the period of the above experience, validated by a competent person and the employer.
    OR
    iii.    Possess a Chargeman A1  certificate of competency with 1 year working experience in low voltage synchronizing of generators, and
    iv.    Possess a complete log book based on 1 year working experience in low voltage synchronizing of generators, validated by a competent person and the employer.
    OR
    v.    Possess a Chargeman A4-1 certificate of competency with 1 year working experience in low voltage synchronizing of generators, and
    vi.   Possess a complete log book based on 1 year working experience in low voltage synchronizing of generators validated by a competent person and the employer.

PROGRAM  II (1 YEARS)
These course are conducted for a one (1) year by these sequence:

  • Three (3) months in institution with practical training.
    Six (6) months industrial training in industries/factories registered with Energy Commission.
    Three (3) months in institution for refresher course and final exam.
    Attendant course in the institution not less than 80%.
    Attendant for industrial training not less than 90%
  • Basic requirement.
    Experience:
    i.    Possess a Chargeman A1 certificate of competency.
    OR
    ii.   Possess a Chargeman A4-1 certificate of competency.
Category for B0-2
Programs Qualifications

PROGRAM  (20 WEEKS)
These course are conducted for a five (5) months by these sequence:

  • Three (3) months in institution with practical training.
    Four (4) weeks industrial training in industries/factories registered with Energy Commission.
    Four (4) weeks in institution for refresher course and final exam.
    Attendant course in the institution not less than 80%.

  • Basic requirement
    Possess a Chargeman A4-2 certificate of competency  with 2 years experience in high voltage system
    Possess a complete log book based on 2 year working experience in high voltage system, validated by a competent person and the employer

  • Three (3) months in institution with practical training.

  • Basic requirement.
    Experience:
    i.    Possess a Chargeman A4-1 certificate of competency with 2 years experience in high voltage system, and
    ii.    Possess a complete log book based on 2 year working experience in high voltage system, validated by a competent person and the employer

    iii.    Possess a Chargeman BO-2 certificate of competency with one year experience in low voltage aerial line
    vii.   Possess a complete log book based on 2 year working experience in low voltage aerial system, validated by a competent person and the employer

These course are conducted for a five (5) months by these sequence:

  • Three (3) months in institution with practical training.

  • Basic requirement
    Experience:

    i.    Possess a Chargeman BO-1 certificate of competency with one year in low voltage synchronizing generators.
    ii.    Possess a complete log book based on 1 year working experience in low voltage synchronizing generator, validated by a competent person and the employer.
    OR
    v.    Possess a Chargeman BO-2 certificate of competency with 1 year experience in low voltage synchronizing generator and one year in low voltage aerial line, and
    vi.    Possess a complete log book based on 1 year working experience in low voltage synchronizing generator and 1 year in low voltage aerial line, validated by a competent person and the employer
Category for B1
Programs Qualifications

PROGRAM  (20 WEEKS)
These course are conducted for a five (5) months by these sequence:

  • Three (3) months in institution with practical training.

    iii.   Possess a Chargeman BO with 1 year experience in high voltage aerial line, and
    iv.   Possess a complete log book based on 1 year working experience in high voltage aerial line, validated by a competent person and the employer.
Category for B4
Programs Qualifications

    ii.   Possess a complete log book based on 1 year working experience in high voltage aerial line and one year experience in high voltage synchronizing generators, validated by a competent person and the employer.
    OR
    iii.    Possess a Chargeman BI certificate of competency with one year experience in high voltage synchronizing generators, and
    iv.    Possess a complete log book based on 1 year working experience in high voltage synchronizing generators, validated by a competent person and the employer.
