Policy Statement
ST endeavours to carry out all functions and responsibilities entrusted to it with the highest standards of integrity, efficiency, sincerity, fairness, accountability and professionalism in pursuit of its vision and aspiration to become a world-class regulator of the electricity and piped gas supply industry. This whistleblower protection policy may serve as a reporting mechanism that contributes towards achieving that objective. The system is intended to enhance ST’s ability to strengthen the integrity and governance of its administration to the highest and best standards in carrying out its functions and responsibilities, so that its vision and aspirations may become a reality.
Application
This policy is subject to the applicable jurisdiction and shall apply to all ST employees, members of the public and interested parties dealing with ST. Any whistleblower may lodge a report and will be protected against any detrimental action arising from the report made (for example, demotion, transfer, harassment, disturbance or any other form of retaliatory action).
What May Be Disclosed
- offering / soliciting / giving / receiving any form of bribe;
- conflict of interest;
- abuse of power;
- misappropriation;
- document falsification;
- fraud;
- misuse of ST assets for personal purposes;
- non-compliance with procedures / SOPs;
- breach of the Statutory Bodies (Discipline and Surcharge) Act 2000 [Act 605];
- misconduct;
- making false claims;
- unauthorised leave;
- being untrustworthy / irresponsible; and
- other criminal offences or matters relating to corporate maladministration, violation of the law, or any other misconduct committed by an individual or a group of individuals within ST.
This policy does not replace any existing ST policies or procedures administered by the ST Human Resource Management Unit.
