New Enhanced Dispatch Arrangement (NEDA)

The New Enhanced Dispatch Arrangement (NEDA) is a framework managed by the Single Buyer to improve cost efficiency in Malaysia's power sector through short-run competition. It allows various players—including Merchant Generators, renewable energy plants, and those with expired contracts—to sell electricity to the grid even without a long-term Power Purchase Agreement (PPA). By promoting efficient technologies like cogeneration and offering flexible bidding options for different generator sizes, NEDA aims to maximize existing infrastructure and lower costs for the benefit of the entire electricity supply industry.
